MODERN METHODS OF TEACHING GERMAN IN YSU. THE JOINT PROJECT WITH THE "GOETHE" INSTITUTE OF TBILISI WAS SUMMARIZED
Participating students who mastered the modern methods of teaching German received certificates.
Within the framework of the course, the students acquired skills related to working on texts, getting to know the audience, presenting information more attractively, and other methods.
In the conversation with us, Gayane Savoyan, head of the chair of German philology of YSU Faculty of European Languages and Communication, stated that the program exceeded expectations. According to her, the enthusiasm of the students gives reason to think about making it an integral part of subject lectures.
"I can confidently say that this program broke many stereotypes related to teaching methods and became a basis for the participating students to reevaluate the role and importance of the pedagogue," stressed G. Savoyan.
Mary Navasardyan, the lecturer of YSU European Languages and Communication Faculty, representative of "Goethe" Institute and training within the framework of the program, also emphasized the success of the program. Talking to us about the effectiveness of the courses, M. Navasardyan mentioned that each course was concluded with the question "what did the course give?" According to her, it is also a component of the modern teaching methodology.
"This course proved that teaching methodology is one of the main factors in keeping students motivated. It is noteworthy that the created conditions and environment showed how smart our students are. I sincerely hope that other projects will be implemented within the framework of cooperation," said the representative of the Tbilisi "Goethe" Institute, summing up the speech.
It is noteworthy that within the framework of the program, the students performed various group works, which, according to the trainer, contributed to their easy socialization and working in different environments.
According to third-year students of the faculty who participated in the program, this was the best opportunity to learn new methods of teaching German. According to them, after participating in the program, pedagogy has increased among the preferred professions, which will give an opportunity to best apply the new knowledge gained.
It should be noted that 30 students applied to participate in the program, from which the applicants with the highest level of German language skills were selected.
