THE COURSE ON "ASYLUM AND HUMAN RIGHTS" WAS SUMMARIZED
On December 8, students who successfully completed the "HELP" course at YSU European Studies Center received certificates.
Armenian and foreign students participated in the online course "Asylum and Human Rights" initiated by the Council of Europe (CoE), which was held on the "HELP" platform. The course program was implemented within the framework of cooperation between the European Studies Center of YSU and the Justice and Human Rights Training Department of the CoE ("HELP" Secretariat), as well as the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Lilit Mirzoyan, Deputy Director of the Center for European Studies, congratulating the students on the successful completion of the course, and thanked the "HELP" Secretariat and UNHCR for their partnership and cooperation.
“We will continue cooperation by participating in other courses of the "HELP" platform, the content of which is close to the content plan of the programs of the Center for European Studies”, emphasized L. Mirzoyan.
Anna Sahakyan, program manager of the CoE Yerevan office and coordinator of "HELP" courses, said, “I congratulate all the participants for this important achievement and thank the UNHCR Armenia office, our partners in Strasbourg, as well as Sergey Ghazinyan for bringing this important course to life. I hope that the knowledge gained during this period will greatly help the students in their future work activities."
At the event, Naira Marutyan, the representative of the Legal Department of the UNHCR in Armenia, presented the activities of the UNHCR in Armenia.
"It is significant that the first group of YSU European Studies Center students successfully completed the course. The positive response we have received is truly heartening and inspiring for all of us. So, we fully hope that the course will soon be included in the curriculum of the faculty", noted N. Marutyan.
YSU lecturer, trainer Sergey Ghazinyan informed the participants about the inclusion of the "HELP" platform courses in the two master’s programs of CES and expressed his gratitude to the students for their active participation, as well as he informed about the use of other courses in the self-learning format.
It should be noted that such events aim to expand the professional range of abilities and skills of YSU students.
