ALL YOU NEED IS PR: STUDENTS TELL ABOUT MASTER’S PROGRAM
Today, on May 31, 1st year students of the Faculty of Sociology Public Relations Master Program organized a meeting with lecturers and alumni, presenting the importance of this profession, the content of the program and the success stories of graduates.
All you need is PR speakers were Public Relations Master Program Manager, co-founder of SPRING PR Company Nvard Melkonyan and lecturer Narek Malyan, the author of the PR Practicum subject, “Zero Point” and “PR of Sodom” books.
Nvard Melkonyan presented the history of the master's program development and year-round improvement, as well as the procedures for applying and demand in the labor market: "We attach great importance to the practical part of the training. We organize visits to various institutions and companies, receive their representatives. Most of the lecturers are employers in the field," - said Nvard Melkonyan.
He mentioned that philologists, journalists, culturologists, sociologists, social workers, economists are applying for the bachelor's degree program. Touching upon the tutors, he emphasized that the best specialists of other faculties also are engaged here.
Narek Malyan, speaking about the project's professional depth, noted that he attaches great importance to visits by students to state institutions and private companies, as it gives an opportunity to see the PR in action.
"I do not agree with the saying that a clever man learns on someone else's mistakes. Everyone should do his mistakes. Life is a series of mistakes and lessons learned from them are invaluable," - he commented.
Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Sociology Anahit Sahakyan presented the course "Technologies of Influence ", which gives an opportunity to study psychological effects and manipulative techniques.
Graduates Natali Sinoryan and Mariam Safaryan presented their success stories at the meeting. By showing professional advancement on their own example, they emphasized the importance of believing in their own strengths and loving the chosen profession.
Anna Gareginyan, a 1st year student of the Public Relations Master Program, spoke about student's everyday life, activities and friendly atmosphere.
Students and alumni from different faculties of YSU were present at the meeting. At the end of the meeting, the participants voiced their concerns and received the answers directly from the lecturers and graduates.
