YSU LEGAL CLINICS GRADUATES RECEIVED CERTIFICATES
Today, the ceremony of handing over students’ certificates at the Legal Clinic was held at YSU Faculty of Law. About nine months, students were providing legal services to socially vulnerable citizens in the clinic.
Dean of YSU Faculty of Law Gagik Ghazinyan, Legal Clinic Director Knarik Vardanyan, lecturers and students were present at the ceremony.
In his welcoming speech, Knarik Vardanyan expressed her gratitude to the students for their diligent and dedicated work, expressing hope that they will gain the acquired knowledge in the interests of our country and its citizens, and the high human qualities that the students have, will remain unchanged even in case of professional difficult situations.
Dean of YSU Faculty of Law Gagik Ghazinyan said in his speech that our homeland needs especially good lawyers: “This is a good opportunity to show to the public that the former legal system at times did not allow good professionals to serve the cause of justice, as the experts were choosing alternative organizations, or leaving the country for the continuation of education, and the state was deprived of good specialists. Now there is a great opportunity for professionals and people to be useful to their professional skills and human qualities,” - said the dean.
The lecturer-coordinator of the clinic, lawyer of the RA Chamber of Advocates Hayk Alumyan also congratulated the students: “Human rights activists have to obey the law, but they have the right not to accept the law. You can argue any law if you find it does not correspond to the inner sense of justice you have,” - Hayk Alumyan said in his speech.
YSU Academic Secretary Menua Soghomonyan presented the letter sent to the rector by the grateful citizen. According to the content of the letter, the citizen asked to award the staff and students of the clinic for their care and diligent work. At the end of the event, students also made a speech, expressing their gratitude to the lecturers for sharing their experience in the legal field so carefully.
Vahe Grigoryan stressed in his speech that besides getting knowledge, they also learned the art of being a good person, because a well-known fact is that knowledge has become a nuclear power plant in the hands of a good person, and an atomic bomb in the hands of a bad man.
