“CITIZENS’ SATISFACTION IS THE BIGGEST APPRECIATION FOR US”: MANE TANDILYAN IS THE GUEST OF FACULTY OF SOCIOLOGY
Today the Chair of Social Work and Social Technologies of YSU Faculty of Sociology hosted the RA Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Mane Tandilyan.
Greeting the faculty staff and students Mane Tandilyan expressed her delight to meet with the future specialists of the sphere she leads.
Speaking about the expectations the Minister referred to the problems the future specialists will have to face and find solutions to.
“Citizens’ satisfaction is the highest appreciation for us. The problem of each citizen is special for him. So our task is to realize that peculiarities”, said the Minister.
Discussing the challenges of the sphere with the students Mane Tandilyan expressed willingness to hear out the proposals of the new generation and to cooperate with students taking into account their research made in their term papers and graduate works.
“Your profession should open the way for finding solutions to citizens’ personal problems; we must see through them and help solve them”, said M. Tandilyan.
According to the Minister, the most difficult thing is to win citizens’ trust which requires long and consistent work however it can be lost very easily.
Speaking about the laws Minister Mane Tandilyan stressed that laws must reflect human rights, “We make laws. Laws are only tools: our citizens must live well due to these tools”, added the Minister.
According to Mane Tandilyan, our society lacks tolerance, “It is difficult for us to hear others, to realize their problems. Instead of hearing out and understanding we often try to prove our being right. Actually, the problem is not in being right or wrong. We must develop our policy to listen to others and put up with them”, outlined the Minister excluding any form of violence.
Tandilyan also said that sometimes the state has the solutions for some problems but it can’t deliver to citizens. She attached importance to mutual understanding as only this way solutions can be found.
Minister Tandilyan stressed that such meeting-discussions are necessary both for government and students. Via dialogues it is possible to overcome challenges, find new solutions. She said that students’ outlook differs from the one of the older generation and it gives hope to find alternative solutions.
