NEW COOPERATION WITH CALIFORNIA UNIVERSITY IN THE SPHERE OF ARMENOLOGY
Today YSU Rector hosted the Chancellor of California University Gene Block and professor Eric Israelyan.
YSU Vice-rector for Academic Affairs Alexander Grigoryan, the head of International Cooperation Department Alexander Markarov and the deputy head of Armenology Research Institute Mher Hovhannisyan were present at the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting YSU Rector familiarized the guests with the university structure, spheres of activity, implemented projects as well as the frames of cooperation with international partners.
The head of YSU International Cooperation Department Alexander Markarov spoke about the programs which are organized for foreign students and youth from Diaspora.
Gene Block and Erik Israelyan noted that they would be glad to establish cooperation with YSU to make research in the sphere of Armenology. “We’d like to start coordinated cooperation with this scientific and educational center of Armenia to carry out joint research and other activities”.
YSU Rector and Mher Hovhannisyan presented the guests the activity of Armenology Research Institute, familiarized them with publications and spoke about Armenology centers functioning in other countries.
At the end of the meeting the representatives of two universities stated that the meeting was really useful and that both parties are willing to cooperate.
