FEATURES OF THE BLENDED TEACHING AND LEARNING
Three lecturers from Yerevan State University attended the training course “Blended teaching and learning” within the framework of ERASMUS + PRINTeL project.
The training was organized at FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences in Graz, Austria on November 5-9. The lecturers are from different departments:
• Anna Aleksanyan - Associate Professor of Chair of Pedagogy, Center for Pedagogy and Education Development
• Arthur Avagyan - Assistant at the Department of Information Systems, Center for Information Technology (SS) Educational and Research.
• Liana Gabrielyan - Associate Professor of the Chair of Physical and Colloid Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry.
ERASMUS+ PRINTeL project coordinator, Deputy Vice-rector for Academic Affairs, Director of the Quality Assurance Centre Armen Budaghyan and Leading specialist of the same Centre, project coordinator assistant Mari Santurjyan were on a monitoring visit in the same university.
The training course “Blended teaching and learning” was aimed at identifying opportunities of contemporary technologies for effective teaching and learning.
During the week of training, lecturers from ERASMUS + PRINTeL project partner countries such are: Armenia, Georgia and Belarus, who have experience in various subjects, have been introduced and discussed the peculiarities of the role of the lecturer as an electronic moderator and reflective performer, as well as the peculiarities of the contemporary methods used in their own classroom. Particularly the knowledge gained were important and applicable to learners' reflection support through online folders and other electronic activities or e-tivities, their experience in applying them, and future localization opportunities. The lecturers were also interested in multimedia opportunities in the process of creating educational materials that can also contribute to the development of learners' motivation and reflection. From the standpoint of discussing the experience of using blended learning, it was also important to get acquainted with electronic learning online tools and to consider them from a projective perspective.
The whole week's work was summed up by presenting a group projects and discussing individual experiences. All the participants of the course received certificates of successful participation at the end of the training.
