VIDEO AS A LEARNING TOOL FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS
Audiovisual materials can convey and communicate complex information in a more motivating and memorable way of creating plentiful learning experience.
YSU team members Marine Yaghubyan from faculty of Romance Germanic Philology, Ani Simonayan from faculty of Law and representatives from Armenian, Georgian and Belarus different universities participated in "Video as a learning tool for teachers and student" training course in University of Porto in November 12-16.
During one-week intensive course team targeted to learn using the teaching video materials in various effective ways, to have opportunity to be enrolled in several new teaching strategies that align pedagogical aims, learn outcomes with video materials. Also, participants had a chance to discuss different implications and challenges of using video materials in teaching and learning process, the advantages and main drawbacks.
During the training course team had an opportunity to meet with various invited speakers, mainly from University of Porto. After detailed introduction of the programme, the team was delivered comprehensive lectures about student engagement in video creating process, importance of using proper video materials as a teaching tool. The team had a meeting with Panopto programme representatives and had practical workshops of using the programme.
The members of the team had an opportunity to visit Media innovation Labs and radio stations of University of Porto.
The week summarized with team presentations and sharing of ideas and experience of all participants.
