THE RESULTS OF THE COMPETITION FOR INNOVATIVE IDEAS OF YOUNG SCHOLARS HAVE BEEN SUMMARIZED
The results of the competition announced for the innovative ideas of young scholars have been summarized today by Scientific-Research Institute of Biology.
The competition was announced in November and the students and youth groups presented 8 innovative ideas. 5 of the presented applications were selected: production of bio-fuel by means of microbes from coffee wastes; bio-mining industry as a new way of recycling of mine-dumps in Armenia; study of aloe fluid on the growth of eruca vesicaria seeds; production of beverage with fungi-based bio-active supplements; production of bio-hydrogen via microbes from industrial wastes.
The Vice-rectors Gegham Gevorgyan, Ruben Markosyan, the Dean of the Faculty of Biology Emil Gevorgyan, the director of Scientific-Research Institute of Biology Alexander Yesayan, deputy director Karn Trchounyan, lecturers and students were present at the meeting.
The winners presented their ideas and then were awarded incentive gifts. Alexander Yesayan mentioned that the aim of the competition is to encourage innovative ideas of students and then support them in realization. Karen Trchounyan noted that this competition has a practical significance and was held in two stages.
On the first stage the ideas had their leaders and the winners were chosen during the second stage. The competition help students to use their knowledge in practice. The Dean of the Faculty of Biology stressed that the competition will be continuative.
