LECTURES OF YSU ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR AT GERMAN UNIVERSITY
On January 20-26, 2019, the Associate Professor of the Chair of Service of YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology, PhD in Geography Tigran Sargsyan, as a guest specialist was delivering lectures at one of the most influential universities of Germany- Duisburg-Essen University.
The series of lectures delivered in English were dedicated to the complex geographic characteristics of Armenia in the context of regional developments, to urban settlements in Armenia and sustainable development of economic system and its current challenges.
The audience included the students of the Chair of Geography of Duisburg-Essen University and the representatives of the university faculty.
The lectures arose interest and enthusiasm. “Many students, previously little aware of our country, got complete professional information about Armenia’s geographic, socio-economic and political peculiarities”, stated T. Sargsyan. “At the request of German students I presented the current exchange programs, particularly, the possibilities and perspectives of one-term study at the Faculty of Geography and Geology of YSU”, said the Associate Professor.
At the end of the visit, T. Sargsyan and the head of the Chair of Geography of Duisburg-Essen University, Professor Dr.Rudolf Juchelka delivered a joint lecture on the theme “RA complex geographic characteristics” at the union of Geography and Geology of Essen. The possibilities of academic cooperation development between YSU and Duisburg-Essen University, particularly in the thematic spheres of geography and geology, were discussed with German colleagues.
