GENDER SENSITIVITY ASSESSMENT RESEARCH HAS BEEN PRESENTED
On the initiative of the Centre for Gender and Leadership Studies, the analysis of gender sensitivity of the national platforms of the civil society forum of the EU Eastern Partnership Countries was presented today in Adamyan Hall of YSU.
The research aimed at gender sensitivity assessment of the EaP CSF national platforms is important both for local and international organizations.
The representatives of “Women’s Resource Centre” NGO, who made the research with international colleagues, spoke about the results of the research.
Referring to the RA Gender policy they outlined the existing problems: the institutions founded under international pressure, the absence of the UNO Women’s office.
The disbursement of the grants given by the international organizations is problematic as sometimes organizations of no gender sensitivity are engaged in gender problems.
Among the problems of the sphere were outlined the stereotypes, lack of specialists, low will for making changes in the field.
In comparison with other EaP countries our country has nearly the same level of involvement in politics and decision making spheres. The level of family violence spread is similar too.
The members of the research, summarizing the data and general surveys presented their suggestions related to increasing and strengthening the gender sensitivity of the national platform of EaP CSP.
