INDEX OF POLITICAL STABILITY OF NEWLY INDEPENDENT COUNTRIES IS STUDIED
The presentation of the book “The political stability of newly-independent countries in modernization conditions (Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Ukraine, Moldova)” was held today in Robert Shuman Hall of the Centre for European Studies of YSU.
The analysis was carried out within the master program “Human rights and democratization in the Caucasus” and “Global Campus” program. The book was typed by YSU publishing house.
The representatives of the EU delegation in Armenia, the representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited in the RA, of state, international and public organizations.
The director of the Centre for European Studies Arthur Ghazinyan informed that the analysis referred to a very important and actual theme and the results can be useful both for lecturers and the students engaged in research.
Then the scientific leader of the research group, the lecturer of YSU Centre for European Studies, expert, Candidate of political Sciences Arusyak Alexanyan greeted those present.
According to the research, Kazakhstan has the leading position with its index of stability, then comes Belarus and Georgia. Armenia is the 5th in this list. Arusyak Alexanyan noted that the quantity of direct investments was also taken into consideration as an important and influential factor.
Presenting the structure of the book Arusyak Aleksanyan noted that it consists of 11 chapters which include the methodology of the studies, the in-country and intercountry analysis.
The member of the research group, Candidate of political Science, Associate Professor Ashot Alexanyan referred to the methodology with which the analysis was conducted. He stressed that their methodology is already a national tool which was created and used by the experts of the centre for European Studies.
It should be noted that the previous publications were used at the European Commission as analyses and concrete policy for different countries were carried out on their basis.
At the end of the meeting the guests addressed questions related to the presented data to the speakers.
