HUMAN POTENTIAL MUST BE DEVELOPED: MEETING WITH DELEGATION OF NAZARBAEV UNIVERSITY

The head of the Chair of Public Administration of the Faculty of International Relations of YSU Vahagn Aglyan, the Dean of Graduate School of Public Policy of Nazarbaev University Dr.Weng Tat Hui, other members of the delegation were present at the meeting.

At the beginning of the event the Dean of Graduate School of Public Policy Dr. Weng Tat Hui presented the programs of the school, the perspectives of inter-university cooperation development and students’ exchange possibilities were discussed.

Later,in the Session Hall of YSU Academic Council, Dr. Weng Tat Hui presented the history of foundation of Graduate School of Public Policy of Nazarbaev University to the students of Master program of the Department of Public Management of the Faculty of International Relations and touched upon the activity of the school.

According to Dr. Weng Tat Hui, the aim of the school founded on the initiative of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbaev is to improve the life quality of people living in Kazakhstan and Central Asia trying to develop research programs, processes of education and teaching related to public policy.

He added that they actively cooperate with different universities of Europe and Asia. They particularly appreciate the cooperation with Graduate School of Public Policy of Singapore. “I think everybody heard about “Singapore economic miracle”. When we speak about it with our partners from Singapore they say that the secret is simple-it is necessary to develop human resources, this is the main mission of such schools”, explained Dr. Weng Tat Hui.

Graduate School of Public Policy of Nazarbaev University suggests Master, Postgraduate and research programs in the fields of public policy and public administration.

The programs can be applied for till April 1, 2019.
