NEW POSSIBILITIES FOR COOPERATION WITH UNIVERSITIES OF LITHUANIA
The meeting with the chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Armenia Mrs. Isolda Brichkovski and the second secretary of the Embassy Yomantas Pabirzhis was held in YSU Rector’s office.
YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, the head of International Cooperation Department Alexander Margarov were present at the meeting.
Aram Simonyan presented the guests the history and activity of the university.
“YSU is the largest and oldest university of the republic and it is often called Alma Mater, as it gave a birth to many universities functioning in Armenia”, st5ressed Aram Simonyan.
Speaking about bilateral cooperation Aram Simonyan stressed that the university is always ready to cooperate within the frames various programs, research projects and scholarships.
Alexander Margarov spoke about the foreign partners of the university presenting the foreign policy of YSU.
According to him, one of the most important problems of the university is its internationalization, and we actively cooperate with a number of universities of the region and the European Union.
Mrs.Isolda Brichkovski thanked the administration of YSU for the meeting and noted that the possibilities of cooperation with YSU are impressive.
“It’s very interesting for us to start cooperation with YSU. In this regard we plan to show the film “Lithuania, my freedom” shown within the frames of Francophonie in Armenia, at YSU”, said Mrs. Brichkovski.
She also informed about the competition announced by the European Union, in which the students of the Eastern Partnership countries including Armenia can participate presenting the essays about the European Union.
The guests tried to specify the spheres in which young specialists can be nvolved in various educational programs and carry out experience exchange.
