Within the frames of the studies of students’ plagiarism and academic ethics in the sphere of higher education of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Turkey a group discussion was held between a number of students.
The aim of the survey is to study the opinions on the prevention and management of students’ plagiarism and academic dishonesty (cheating).
The research is coordinated by Dr. Tomash Foltinek from Mendel University of Brno (Czech Republic) and Irene Glenining from Coventry University (UK). The program is financed by the Council of Europe.
The draft research was reconsidered and confirmed in accordance with the procedure of Research Ethics of Coventry University.
Today’s discussion at YSU was chaired by Assistant Professor of Mendel University of Brno Dita Diabolova, and the participating students represented different faculties.
They discussed the existing problems, shared their experience related to plagiarism and cheating and expressed opinions on the solution.
At the end of the meeting Dita Diabolova noted that she was impressed with the students’ involvement. “I am amazed hoe honest you are, you don’t get embarrassed and present things as they are”.
The results of the survey will be analyzed and presented in the form of a report.
