CHALLENGES AND MODERN DEVELOPMENTS OF TRANSCAUCASIA REGION: CONFERENCE IN ARTSAKH
Within the frames of YSU delegation three-day visit to Artsakh, on April 6 the conference entitled “Challenges and Modern Developments of Transcaucasian Region” was held in the National Asssembly of Artsakh.
The reports on the problems in Artsakh, tendencies of development of the region and the challenges rooted before Armenian society were made during the conference initiated by YSU Centre for Students’ Affairs and SSS.
YSU Rector Aram Simonyan noted that the conference is one of the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of YSU. The Rector claimed with delights that both tutors and students take part in the conference. “I believe that the reports have proper scientific level and can contribute to the solutions of fundamental problems of security in Artsakh”. “We live in a very complicated period. The Caucasus, particularly the Transcaucasia has always been in difficult situation. This region has always been at the focus of attention and interests of various states”, said Aram Simonyan. He added that currently the attention to the region is so great that it can be compared with the events of the beginning of the 20th century.
The head of the SSS of YSU Ani Hakobyan informed that this conference is not the only one dedicated to the 10th anniversary of YSU foundation. “In September we plan to hold the 6th SSS international conference which we also want to dedicate to the jubilee of the university.
The SSS Secretary Meline Petrosyan informed that the reports of this conference will find their place in the collection dedicated to YSU 100th anniversary.
At the end of the conference YSU Rector Aram Simonyan handed certificates to the reporters.
