TO MOSCOW –ON THE HOLOCAUST TRACES
The head of the division of Genocide Studies of YSU Institute for Armenian Studies Suren Manukyan was in Jerusalem from March 23 to April 1 on the behest of Yad Vashem-the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre.
He took part in the trainings organized by the International Institute for Holocaust Studies in Yad Vashem. The participants were familiarized with numerous documents witnessing about the trial to exterminate the Jews in Europe; visited the museum of Yad Vashem where even 6 hours were not enough to get to know about the history of one of the greatest crimes of the 20th century.
The program also involved S. Manukyan’s report on “The situation and perspective of Armenian Genocide Studies and Education Development”, which related particularly to the activity of the division of Genocide Studies of YSU Institute for Armenian Studies. Mr. Manukyan’s participation in the program became possible due to the support of “Holocaust” centre of Russia and YSU.
On April 2, Suren Manukyan was in Moscow, at Russian State Humanitarian University where he delivered a public lecture entitled “ Ordinary people and inexpressible crime”.
The possibilities of further cooperation with the Centre for Holocaust and Genocide Studies adjunct to Russian State Humanitarian University were discussed as well.
