“YEGHEGIS RIVER IS IN DISASTROUS SITUATION”: CEO OF RA RENEWABLE ENERGY PRODUCERS’ ASSOCIATION ROMAN MELIKYAN
The Faculty of Geography and Geology organized a round-table discussion which was dedicated to the fundamental ecological problems of Armenia in the context of hydro-energetics.
The event was organized due to the joint efforts of YSU Centre of Sustainable Development and the RA Renewable Energy Producers’ Association.
The CEO of the RA Renewable Energy Producers’ Association Roman Melikyan presented today’s situation with the Yeghegis river and spoke about the fundamental ecological problems of Armenia related to the exploitation of small hydro-powers stations and mismanagement of water resources.
According to Mr. Melikyan, the problem of small HPSs was caused by mismanagement of water resources from ecological point of view.
He outlined the disastrous situation with the Yeghegis river.
The specialists of YSU Centre for Sustainable Development discussed the raised problems and expressed their opinions on them.
