YSU RECTOR MEETS JOHANNES LEPSIUS’S GRANDSON MANFRED ASHEK AND DIRECTOR OF “LEPSIUSHAUS” ROLF HOSFELD
Today, YSU Rector Aram Simonyan hosted the son of Johannes Lepsius, Manfred Ashek and the director of Lepsius House in Postdam Rolf Hosfeld.
The meeting in the Rector’s office was organized by the Department of International Cooperation.
The Vice-Rector on Academic Affairs Menua Soghomonyan, the Vice-Rector on Scientific Policy and International Cooperation Arsen Babajanyan, Doctor of History, Professor Ashot Hayruni were present at the meeting.
The Rector greeted the guests and presented the history of the university foundation and its structure, touched upon the educational programs, scientific activity, international cooperation of YSU.
Aram Simonyan also told about the activity of the Department of German Philology and sending the tutors of the faculty to German universities for retraining.
Vice-Rector Menua Soghomonyan presented the details of YSU’s membership in “Erasmus+” program and referred to the cooperation with German universities.
Manfred Ashek expressed gratitude for the welcome and outlined the respectful attitude of Armenians to Johannes Lepsius’s legacy.
He also attached importance to Armenian-German relationship and the contribution of Lepsius and other devotees to its development.
