CHALLENGE CUP TO REMAIN IN YSU: STUDENTS OF FACULTY OF LAW WIN IN MOOT COURT AGAIN
On April 26-28 the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) organized a moot court on the international humanitarian law and 3 teams from YSU Faculty of Law took part in it. One of the teams became winner.
“IHL Moot Court” organized by the ICRC is outstood in its format as the stages are always situational.
According to the participants, good knowledge is not enough to win. Rhetorical art, language skills, teamwork, respect for opponents, negotiation skills are also required.
The contest consisted of 2 stages-written and oral. 6 teams won in the written competition including three teams representing YSU: “Blitzkreig”, “Themrene”, “Nansen”.
“Themrene” team included 2nd year students of the Faculty of Laws Edgar Ter-Hovhannisyan, Volodya Mazmanyan and Sona Hayrapetyan; “Nansen” team members were the 2nd year students Arman Hakobjanyan, Zhenya Barseghyan and Julia Ohanyan, and “Blitzkreig” team members were the 2nd year students Garegin Papoyan, 4th year student David Baklachyan and the Student of the Faculty of International Relations Taguhi Paremuzyan.
“Blitzkreig” and “Mens rea” team representing UFAR came to the final. As a result of hard struggle “Blitzkreig” team of YSU won.
So, the challenge cup remained in YSU this year, and the members of the team got the opportunity to one of European summer schools to enrich their knowledge.
