DELEGATION OF FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT OF YSU IS IN USA
On April 21, the delegation of YSU Faculty of Economics and Management left for the USA with a two-week visit to discuss the possibilities of cooperation with San Jose State University.
The delegation involved the head of “Data Science in Business” Master program, Doctor of Economics, Professor Ruben Gevorgyan, five master students of this program and deputy Dean of the Faculty, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Karen Yeghoyan.
“Data Science in Business” Master program was installed in September 2017 due to joint efforts of YSU Faculty of Economics and Management and the Innovation Solutions and Technology Centre (ISTC). The curriculum of the program is based on the approaches worked out by IBM.
The goal of the program is to prepare highly skilled specialists who can apply analytical, modeling and programming skills in business processes.
In accordance with the preliminary agreement, from September 2020, master students will be able to continue their studies at the second course of “Data Analysis” program at San Jose State University and in case of successful graduation they will get both YSU and SJSU diplomas.
Besides, since February 2020 master students can get three-month internship in the American companies cooperating with SJSU.
Since September 2019 the lecturers teaching “Data Science in Business” Master program will pass a retraining program which provides visits of SJSU tutors’ visits to YSU to deliver retraining courses and visits of YSU tutors to SJSU with the aim of experience exchange and familiarization with new technologies.
YSU delegation also participated in a number of specialized seminars for “Data Analysis” Master program students. The seminars were conducted by the representatives of famous “Microsoft”, “Intel”, “BMC” and other companies. The delegation members also visited the famous private companies associating with SJSU.
