POLITOLOGIST GERARD SHALIAN DELIVERS A LECTURE AT YSU
The French strategist, the researcher of international conflict analysis Gerard Shalian delivered a lecture in the Paleans hall of YSU.
The lecture was entitled “Why no victories were made in irregular wars after Vietnam war (1975-2019)?”.
The event was organized by the Department of International Cooperation of YSU.
The teachers and students of the Faculties of Oriental Studies, History, International Relations were present at the lecture.
Gerard Shalian is one of the eminent French political experts, the author of numerous scientific and feature books. His “Memories of my memory” tells about the author’s uncle who struggled against enemy during the years of the Genocide.
Gerard Shalian started the lecture with the question “Which was the most important event of the last 20 years?” Asking his question himself, he noted that the most important event of the last 20 years was China’s becoming the second state of the world.
He also informed that China made a decision to re-operate the Silk Road. They work in three fronts: try to establish their dominance in the Chinese sea in spite of the US; the second-develop their army; the third- develop their science, research to surpass the USA.
