STUDENTS OF YSU FACULTY OF LAW ARE GOING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ORAL STAGE OF THE PRESTIGIOUS MOOT COURT IN GENEVA
The team of the Faculty of Law of YSU took part in the written stage of the Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition and getting god results got the possibility of take part in the oral stage to be held in Geneva on July 15-20, 2019.
Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition is organized by the Centre for Human Rights and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) within the frames of cooperation with the Global Campus of Human Rights international organization.
The moot court consists of two stages: the first stage provides for written presentation of the positions of parties; in the second stage the parties present their positions orally.
This year the teams of more than 150 universities applied for participation in the moot court including such prestigious universities as Oxford (UK) and Yale (USA).
According to the results of the first stage, YSU team was among 48 best teams and got the opportunity to participate in the oral stage to be held in Geneva on July 15-20.
YSU team is represented by the 3rd year students of the Faculty of Law David Gharibyan and Diana Karyan. The coach of the team is the post-graduate of the Chair of Constitutional Law of the Faculty of Law Sose Barseghyan.
This year the case of the moot court deals with numerous modern problems, particularly using of artificial intellect in the frames of criminal proceeding, the right to have weapon, personal data protection and so on.
