SNAP SESSION OF YSU BOARD OF TRUSTEES HAS BEEN HELD

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees Gevorg Muradyan greeting those present presented the agenda which was affirmed unanimously.

The first issue related to premature termination of the powers of Rector Aram Simonyan in accordance with his resignation.

He announced his resignation on May 23, at the end of the meeting of the Academic Council of YSU.

The Board affirmed the issue.

The second issue related to the appointment of the acting Rector of Yerevan State University.

The head of the Chair of Genetics and Cytology Ruben Harutyunyan nominated the former Vice-Rector on Scientific Policy and International Cooperation, Professor of the Chair of Mathematical Analysis and Theory of Functions, Academician of the RA NAS Gegham Gevorgyan to Rector’s office pointing out his many-year experience in administrative activity and contribution to the scientific achievements of the university.

Arthur Vagharshyan nominated the head of the Chair of Civil Proceedings, Doctor of Law, Professor Vahe Hovhannisyan’s candidacy stressing that currently it’s important to have an acting Rector who will have knowledge and skills in law.
