APPLICATION OF ARABIC-ARMENIAN DICTIONARY HAS BEEN CREATED AT FACULTY OF ORIENTAL STUDIES
The presentation of the application of the Arabic-Armenian thematic dictionary created due to the cooperation with the “Abdulaziz Saud al-Babtein” cultural foundation, was held today at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of YSU.
The Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Ruben Melkonyan, the head of the Chair of Arabic Studies Hayk Kocharyan, the representatives of the teaching staff and students were present at the event.
The authors of the dictionary are the lecturers of the Chair of Arabic Studies Anna Danielyan and Margarita Sargsyan as well as the former lecturer of the Chair currently living abroad Alvina Hovhannisyan. And the author of the application is Sargis Mkhitaryan.
Presenting the thematic dictionary Anna Danielyan noted that it was created in 2018 within the scope of the grant allotted by “Abdulaziz Saud al-Babtein” cultural foundation.
The dictionary contains more than 8000 words and expressions summarized into 9 themes, 22 subthemes which in their turn are divided into 197 sections.
Hayk Kocharyan noted that it was the first time the Chair had tried to create an application of Arabic-Armenian thematic dictionary in the virtual domain.
The Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Ruben Melkonyan greeted this initiative of the Chair which is aimed at simplification of learning process for students due to modern technologies.
