GEGHAM GEVORGYAN HOSTS DELEGATION OF UNIVERSITY OF UDINE TO DISCUSS COLLABORATION PERSPECTIVES

The head of the Department of International Cooperation of YSU Alexander Markarov, the head of the Chair of Algebra and Geometry Varuzhan Atabekyan, the Associate Professor of the Chair of Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Informatics Vahagn Mikaelyan were present at the meeting as well.

The delegation of the University of Udine involved experts on international collaboration and Professor Dikran Dikranyan, Armenian by nation.

Greeting the guests Gegham Gevorgyan presented them the history and present activity of YSU, spoke about the faculties and institutes functioning in the university.

Alexander Markarov introduced the directions of collaboration, the international partners of YSU and the position of the university in different ranking charts.

He said that it is highly important for the university to develop effective cooperation in concrete directions and to provide double diplomas with partner universities.

The representatives of the University of Udine presented the history of the university, told about the programs of exchange of students, teaching staff and administrative employees with the universities of the European Union, Australia and Canada; nowadays they tightly cooperate with the universities of Eastern Europe and counties which are not members of the EU.

The university participates in many national and international research programs. Currently the University of Udine has about 17 thousand students.

The parties discussed the perspectives of cooperation expansion and further development particularly in the field of Mathematics.

Gegham Gevorgyan invited the delegation of Udine University to take part in the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of YSU to be marked in September.
