MOOT COURT AS A FINAL EXAM: BOTH KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS OF STUDENTS ARE CHECKED UP

The moot court was organized as a final examination on the subject “Professional skills of lawyers” taught by the head of the Chair of Criminal Proceeding and Criminalistics David Khachaturyan.

As David Khachaturyan told us the moot court gives the students the possibility to participate as lawyers and witnesses and to apply their skills.

While getting ready for the exam the students work in groups, prepare for questions and answers, clarify their position, try to foresee the position of the opposite party and so on.

The moot court was based on the real scenario which included numerous imaginary facts, and using these facts correctly each party could get success.

According to Mr. Khachaturyan, this examination method is very effective as it checks not only theoretical knowledge of students but also their practical skills.
