8th POST-GRADUATE FORUM ON ARCHAEOBIOLOGY IS HELD AT YSU
The 8th Post-graduate Forum on Archaeobiology was started today in the hall of the Black block of YSU. The forum is to last till July 23.
The event was organized due to the efforts of the postgraduates of the RA NAS Institute of Molecular Biology, Biology and the institute for Archaeology of the University of Warsaw. The Chair of Archaeology and Ethnography of the Faculty of History of YSU and the “Service for preservation of historical and cultural reserve-museums and historical environment” SNCO showed support in the organization of the event.
The postgraduate of the RA NAS Institute of Molecular Biology Maria Antonosyan noted that 9 postgraduates from 9 countries- Great Britain, Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Tunisia, Austria, India, Latvia, Serbia take part in the forum 10 postgraduates from Armenia participate in it as well.
The aim of the forum is to develop the area of Archaeobiology, as it is not so developed in Armenia. Besides it will promote experience exchange and establishment of new ties between young scholars.
The director of the “Service for preservation of historical and cultural reserve-museums and historical environment” SNCO Hayk Tarverdyan and the head of the Chair of Archaeology and Ethnography of the Faculty of history of YSU Hayk Avetisyan also stressed the importance of the forum.
It should be noted that such a forum has been held in Armenia for the first time. It is usually held in Europe, and last year it was held in Palermo, Italy.
