“SUMMER SCHOOL IS A PLATFORM FOR EXPERIENCE EXCHANGE, CREATION OF APPROACHES AND IDEAS”: SUMMER SCHOOL ENTITLED “PROBLEMS OF EDUCATION MANAGEMENT IN THE SYSTEM OF HIGHER EDUCATION” HAS STARTED
The summer school entitled “Problems of Education Management in the System of Higher Education” organized by the Centre of Pedagogy and Education Development has started today in Paleans hall of YSU.
YSU Vice-Rectors Menua Soghomonyan and Arsen Babajanyan, the director of the Centre of Pedagogy and Education Development Nazik Harutyunyan, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Arthur Israelyan, lecturers, students of different faculties of YSU, guests from Graz University (Austria) and speakers from different HEIs were present at the event.
The opening ceremony of the summer school started with the YSU anthem, then Nazik Harutyunyan made a speech.She thanked the participants and informed that the event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of YSU.
The summer school is aimed at boosting the collaboration between Armenian and foreign scientists and educators.
YSU Vice-Rector Menua Soghomonyan attached importance to the role of higher education and outlined the problems related to the management of higher education system stressing that it is both easy and difficult at the same time. “Summer school is a platform for experience exchange, for creation of approaches and ideas. I am sure that the ideas born during the summer school will be installed in the system of education management”, said Mr. Soghomonyan.
Those present were also greeted by the Professor of Graz University of Austria Johanna Hopfner. She made a report on “The value of education and its market price: unexpected ideas about hard-measurable values”.
J. Hopfner noted that higher education is directly connected with the development and economy of a country.
Making the report on “The achievements and problems of education organization at YSU”, N. Harutyunyan touched upon the educational programs, processes, achievements and defects the university faces.
Reports were also made by the representatives of Armenian State Pedagogic University after Kh. Abovyan (ASPU), French University in Armenia Foundation (UFAR), Yerevan State Linguistic University after V. Bryusov (YSLU).] The Vice-Rector on Academic Affairs of ASPU Srbuhi Gevorgyan made a report on the peculiarities of education organization and development in thir university.
The Vice-Rector of UFAR Arayik Navoyan made a report on “Peculiarities of transnational higher education on the example of French University in Armenia”, and the head of the Chair of Education Management and Planning of YSLU Robert Khachatryan made a report on the peculiarities of linguistic and sociological education at YSLU.
The ceremony of closing the summer school was held after the reports.
