The first phase of the summer school, organized jointly by YSU Institute of Armenian Studies and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, has launched in Tsaghkadzor, under the title "Domestic and Foreign Policy Issues in the Context of European Values, Institutions, and Processes."

The official opening ceremony, held on April 12, was attended by YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, Head of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation's Armenia Office Naira Gevorgyan, Director of the Institute of Armenian Studies Vahram Petrosyan, and other guests.
In his opening speech, YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan emphasized the importance of the program in terms of youth education and international cooperation, expressing gratitude to Naira Gevorgyan and Vahram Petrosyan for their effective collaboration.
A special guest of the summer school was Donald Wilson Bush, the grandson of the 28th president of the United States, Woodrow Wilson, who delivered an engaging and insightful lecture.
Throughout the program, participants benefited from the exchange of experience and knowledge with renowned experts from various fields:

Vahram Ter-Matevosyan, Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the American University of Armenia
Arusyak Aleksanyan, Head of the Research Component at YSU Center for European Studies, Ph.D., Associate Professor
Vahe Gabrielyan, Director of the Diplomatic School at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador
Genadi Tavaratsyan, former head of the National Defense Research University at the Ministry of Defense of Armenia

This year, the three-phase summer school selected its participants under highly competitive conditions. Out of over 200 applicants, 26 of the best candidates were chosen. The program is aimed at deepening the professional skills of young researchers and students interested in the field, as well as exchanging international experiences.
At the end of the summer school, participants will apply their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in team-based research projects, which will be presented during the final phase of the school.
Upon completion, the top participants will be awarded certificates.
