1. Admission criteria/requirements
The admission is carried out according to the "YSU’s Master's degree (full-time and part-time) admission procedure".
The applicants must have:
· Bachelor's degree in any science,
· mathematical preparation,
· some programming experience,
· knowledge of at least A2 level English.

2. Programme Objectives
The program aims to provide students with:
. knowledge and understanding necessary for the development of information systems (theoretical foundations of computer science, programming paradigms and technologies),
. practical professional skills (development of software applications and databases, testing of digital circuits),
. general abilities that can be used during the graduate's career (creative application of acquired knowledge, conduct of scientific debates, observance of professional ethics norms)
. knowledge and understanding necessary for the development of information systems (theoretical foundations of computer science, programming paradigms and technologies),
. practical professional skills (development of software applications and databases, testing of digital circuits),
. general abilities that can be used during the graduate's career (creative application of acquired knowledge, conduct of scientific debates, observance of professional ethics norms)
3. Educational outcomes of the programme
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- to clarify the theoretical foundations of computer science,
- to define the fundamental principles of data organization and processing,
- to formulate the principles of process design and implementation,
- to describe the fundamentals of designing and testing digital circuits,
- to select network and Web-technologies,
- to characterize the construction methods of applied information systems,
- to interpret legal and ethical norms related to the use and construction of information systems.

4. Assessment methods
Based on the workload of the courses provided by the curriculum of the educational program, the mode of study, teaching methods, and taking into account the importance of the course in the formation of the student's professional knowledge and abilities, the courses are divided into 4 groups according to the evaluation form:

Possible workplaces are the YSU IT Educational and Research Center, RA Central Bank, other state institutions using information systems, and private enterprises operating in the IT sector. The data of the last ten years prove that the graduates of the program completely work in their profession both in Armenia and abroad.
Graduates of the program can continue their studies at YSU, the National Academy of Sciences, Armenian-Russian (Slavic) University, and other scientific and educational institutions.

· ability to organize professional analyses, debates, discussions, and presentations,
· ability to properly present educational material and research results,
· knowledge of a foreign language (at least the B1 level of English).
ICT application
· ability to use electronic educational resources.

- organization of exams, discussions, and debates in the learning management system environment.

· at least 5 years of experience in teaching professional courses,
· participation in local or international training and/or professional qualification improvement courses during the last 5 years,

· at least 5 years of experience in information technologies.
Other requirements
· teaching portfolio: 100% online availability of teaching materials,
· the average grades obtained by the results of the student survey: at least 4.0 (for teaching professors).

9. Additional information about the programme
The program is based on the master's program "Mathematical and Software Support of Computing Machines, Complexes, Systems, and Networks" operating in the Chair of Algorithmic Languages of the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics from 1999-2007. It is the result of the further development of the Master's program of the same name operating in YSU IT Educational and Research Center from 2008 to 2016.
