YSU Center for European Studies, Center for Implementation of Legal Education and Rehabilitation Programs, and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law have launched training courses titled "International Standards for Addressing Torture, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment" and "International Standards for the Protection of Human Rights in Penitentiary Institutions".
The opening speech was delivered by Lilit Mirzoyan, Deputy Director of the YSU Center for European Studies; Arman Gasparyan, Program Officer at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law; and Hayk Sanosyan, Director of the Center for Implementation of Legal Education and Rehabilitation Programs at the RA Ministry of Justice.
The speakers emphasized the importance of establishing tripartite cooperation, noting that these training programs are essential for developing the skills and comprehensive knowledge of penitentiary officers.
The trainers for the courses are Sergey Ghazinyan and Laura Gasparyan.
