Luis Moreno Ocampo, the inaugural prosecutor of the International Criminal Court and a distinguished expert in international law, recently delivered a lecture at the Yerevan State University (YSU) Paleans Hall.
The lecture, titled "How is the Genocide Convention Working Today?", offered insights from Ocampo's extensive experience with the application of the convention.
Harutyun Khachikyan, Dean of the YSU Faculty of Law, emphasized the significance of such events for the advancement of international law and for increasing students' interest in this field. He also provided an overview of the Faculty of Law's history and current educational programs.
During the lecture, Ocampo expressed his interest in international legal subjects and presented some ideas for improving their practical application.
Notably, Yeghishe Kirakosyan, the Representative of the Republic of Armenia on International Legal Matters, attended the event as well. The lecture was conducted in English and took place in a warm and interactive atmosphere, with active participation from students.
