As part of the cooperation between the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) and YSU Faculty of Law, a lecture titled "Confiscation of Property of Illegal Origin" was held in the Balian Hall, Yerevan State University.

The Dean of YSU Faculty of Law, Doctor of Law, Professor Harutyun Khachikyan, delivered a welcome speech, emphasizing the importance of the events conducted through this collaboration and expressing a willingness to expand the cooperation. During his speech, the dean also highlighted the relevance of confiscating property of illegal origin and its practical significance for the students.
Nelly Tumasyan, Program Coordinator of the IRZ Yerevan office, also emphasized the ongoing cooperation between the IRZ Foundation and YSU Faculty of Law, expressing hope that this lecture, conducted through their collaboration, will contribute to the future development of legal applications, practical knowledge, and skills.
The event was attended by students from YSU Faculty of Law, the French University in Armenia, the Educational Complex of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the American University of Armenia.
The speakers at the event included Doctor of Law, Professor Anna Margaryan, Head of the Chair of Criminal Law at YSU, Kathrin Brockhoeft, Senior Prosecutor at the Centre for Organized Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor General’s Office in Celle, and Gevorg Barseghyan, Lecturer at the Chair of Criminal Law at YSU.
The lecture addressed the current issues related to the confiscation of property of illegal origin, including the criminal and civil legal instruments for confiscating property of illegal origin, the standards of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), a comparative analysis of the legal frameworks of Armenia and the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as the relevant international and national regulations of other countries.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session and an awarding of certificates.
