
The Research Center for Environmental Law named after A. Iskoyan at YSU Faculty of hosted a lecture by Hovhannes Martirosyan, Head of the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia, at the invitation of Associate Professor Olympia Geghamyan.
The lecture was attended by students from the "Business Law and Arbitration" master's program at the Faculty of Law (as part of the course "Legal Issues of Natural Resource Use and Environmental Protection") and third-year bachelor’s students (as part of the course "Environmental Law of the Republic of Armenia").

In her opening speech, Olympia Geghamyan expressed gratitude for the four-year cooperation, emphasizing that acquiring theoretical knowledge is important, but it becomes truly valuable when applied effectively in real life, through direct interaction with representatives of competent authorities in the field. She noted that these meetings provide an opportunity to understand the current state of the field, the political and legal framework, as well as the latest changes and demands. Additionally, they help clarify the alignment of theoretical ideas and approaches with practical issues, leading to the development of more effective and targeted solutions.

Hovhannes Martirosyan highly appreciated the cooperation with educational institutions, especially with those responsible for training future specialists. He presented the issues of environmental supervision, thoroughly discussed the system of environmental state inspection, the main directions and forms of environmental supervision, obstacles and difficulties within the framework of thematic studies, and the achievements in the field.
He also answered the students' questions, highlighting their high level of preparedness and interest, and expressed hope that in the future, all participants will find their proper place within the legal system.
