Education and work: Highlights from the career fair
The first-ever career fair titled "New Career Opportunities and Perspectives" was held in collaboration with Yerevan State University and Eurasia International University, as part of the Armenian General Benevolent Union’s (AGBU) "Learn and Earn: Artsakh" program. The main goal of the event was to support the socio-economic integration of compatriots forcibly displaced from Artsakh into Armenian society, while enhancing their competitiveness in the labor market and addressing employment challenges.
As part of the fair, meetings were held with representatives from over 40 leading organizations, alongside educational events designed to develop job-seeking skills, and round-table discussions addressing current problems and challenges.
Mikayel Hovhannisyan, Vice-Rector for Development and Innovation at YSU, highlighted that initiatives like this offer a unique opportunity to bring education and employment together on one platform. He stressed that the fair was organized at the perfect time, opening new career opportunities for our compatriots. M. Hovhannisyan expressed hope that the event would serve as the beginning of many successful collaborations.
Karine Nazaryan, Deputy Director of the YSU Alumni and Career Center, mentioned that several professional development courses were organized as part of the event, held across three different halls. Trainers guided participants on how to properly present their skills and build effective connections with employers.
The fair featured over 20 job vacancies across various sectors, offering attendees the opportunity to apply directly to employers.
It is important to note that the Armenian General Benevolent Union’s (AGBU) 'Learn and Earn: Artsakh' program is funded by the HEKS/EPER organization, in collaboration with SHEN CNGO and the Syunik-Development NGO.
Yerevan State University consistently supports, and will continue to support, such initiatives, helping to train specialists in alignment with the demands of the labor market.
