A lecture-discussion on "Human Rights and Social Work" was organized by the Chair of Social Work and Social Technologies of the Faculty of Sociology.
"Human Rights and Social Work" lecture-discussion was conducted by the Adviser of the Human Rights Defender Sergey Ghazinyan and Naira Marutyan, UN Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees.
Dean of the Faculty of Sociology Artur Mkrtichyan, lecturer at the Chair of Social Work and Social Technologies Liana Mkrtchyan, as well as students were present at the meeting.
At the beginning of the discussion, Sergey Ghazinyan welcomed the participants and spoke about the Ombudsman Institute, its necessity and main directions of activity; "National human rights institutions around the world are giving people an alternative."
Through an interactive lecture with students, the speaker observed a number of cases where the Ombudsman could and should be contacted.
Naira Marutyan begins her lecture with a video on the lives of refugees.
The speaker also provided information on the status, the rights and obligations of refugees, the bodies responsible for them.
At the end of the lecture, students asked questions to their guests.
