DISCUSSION OF NEW PROJECTS AND SUMMARY OF RESULTS OF IMPLEMENTED WORK. MEETING OF YSU ACADEMIC COUNCIL TO BE HELD
The meeting of YSU Academic Council has been held today with 13 items on the agenda and a number of current issues.
The first item on the agenda was the awarding of academic titles to the professor and associate professor. Naghash Martirosyan, Chairman of YSU Humanitarian Competition Commission and Khachatur Nerkararyan, Chair of Competition Committee on Natural Sciences, submitted to the Scientific Council for approval one Academic Degree and two Associate Degrees, proving that they meet all required standards.
Afterwards, the Acting Rector of YSU Gegham Gevorgyan presented to the Academic Council the procedure of organizing and holding the "YSU Teaching Excellence Award" annual competition and award ceremony, which, according to him, will be approved by the order of YSU Rector.
According to this project, the competition organized and held once a year may be attended by YSU lecturers who have taught at least 2 vocational courses at YSU during the given academic year.
The winner will be awarded a Certificate of 1,300,000 AMD, including taxes provided by the RA legislation.
According to Gegham Gevorgyan, besides the awarding, shooting of exemplary lectures is planned.
Gegham Gevorgyan suggested installing cameras in all audiences, acquiring other relevant technical equipment and having software.
YSU acting rector asked if the implementation of the proposal would be considered a human rights violation, in response to which Gagik Ghazinyan stated that there was no human rights violation, but added that following the lessons was the function of the deanery.
Then Gegham Gevorgyan informed that it is planned to create a YSU Language Center, the initiative of which is initiated by Margarita Apresyan, Head of English Chair N1. “It is envisaged to set up a language learning center where YSU lecturers will provide paid courses. The program is self-financing and 20% of the profits will be transferred to YSU. ”
Margarita Apresyan mentioned that the center will also teach Armenian language.
Acting Rector Gegham Gevorgyan, on the other agenda item, presented the initiative to establish a business school of YSU. It will be also a self-financing.
YSU Vice-rector on Natural and Accurate Professions Rafael Barkhudaryan explained that the school will implement 4 main programs on a paid basis. “The business school will implement short-term programs for businessmen and then package programs for corporate business representatives. In addition, master programs and consulting are planned. "
As part of the agenda of the session, YSU Vice-rector on Humanities and Social Sciences Elina Asrian reported on the definition of the competences of the faculty, saying that it is a pilot program and stems from the provisions of the university's strategic development plan and institutional accreditation requirements.
As a result of the discussion of current issues, the Scientific Council decided to mediate the work of Sona Tonikyan, Associate Professor of the Chair of Arabic Studies and Yervand Minasyan, a lecturer of the same Chair, on the establishment of a textbook as a textbook for literary Arabic analysis.
At the end of the session YSU acting rector Gegham Gevorgyan said that there are rumors that he is going to sell YSU "Byurakan" educational and production base. “In response to these rumors, I would like to say that we have undertaken the renovation of one base and canteen at the expense of saved funds.
