NEW DEVELOPMENT PERSPECTIVES IN THE SPHERE OF ARMENIAN-PORTUGUESE EDUCATIONAL COOPERATION.
YSU Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Public Relations Artur Israyelyan hosted Vahe Mkhitaryan, chairman of the Portugal-Armenia Friendship Union.
Alexander Margarov, Head of YSU International Cooperation Department, and Tigran Arzumanyan, Representative of the Portugal-Armenia Friendship Union in Armenia, were also present at the meeting.
Artur Israyelyan first thanked the guests for the visit.
Speaking about the agreement, he expressed hope that the agreement on international partnership between the parties, which envisages the teaching of Armenian studies at the University of Lisbon, will promote the spread of the Armenian language and facilitate the exchange of students and lecturers.
Vahe Mkhitaryan, thanking for the invitation, noted that the issues related to Armenian and Armenology are mainly of interest to masters, post-graduate students and researchers, who are ready to carry out their scientific research in Armenia.
The parties also discussed the process of promoting Armenian language and culture courses in Lisbon and organizing Portuguese language and culture courses in Yerevan.
At the end of the meeting, Artur Israyelyan thanked Vahe Mkhitaryan on behalf of the Rectorate for his contribution to the development of Armenian-Portuguese educational relations.
