UN-YSU COOPERATION TENDS TO DEVELOP AND EXPAND
YSU Acting Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan hosted UN Resident Coordinator Shombi Sharp in his office today.
YSU Vice-Rector for Humanities and Social Sciences Elina Asriyan, YSU Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Public Relations Artur Israyelyan and Head of the International Cooperation Department Alexander Margarov , UNDP Resident Representative Natia Natsvlishvili, Head of UN Resident Coordinator’s Office Denise Sumpf were present at the meeting.
Hovhannes Hovhannisyan greeted the guests and noted that cooperation with international organizations, including the UN, is important for YSU, expressing hope that such meetings would contribute to the expansion of cooperation and the involvement of new spheres.
The UN Resident Coordinator thanked for the opportunity to visit again. "A few days ago I had a very impressive meeting with the staff and students of YSU Faculty of Journalism. Meetings with students and young scientists are especially important. I think that the implementation of relevant programs and projects will allow us to further expand and make our business contacts more effective. "
Head of UN Resident Coordinator’s Office Denise Sumpf stressed that it is a good opportunity to develop international educational programs and courses for Armenian students.
UNDP Resident Representative Natia Natsvlishvili touched upon the main spheres, which are priority in the development programs of the international structure.
Hovhannes Hovhannisyan presented to the guests the brief history of YSU, educational and scientific achievements, programs aimed at their development.
