YSU STUDENT ARE GOING TO COMBINE THEORETICAL TRANSLATION WITH PRACTICAL TRAININGS
Two rooms of simultaneous interpreting saturated with modern equipment have opened today at the Chair of Theory and Practice of Translation of the Faculty of Romance-Germanic Philology.
YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, Vice-Rectors Gegham Gevorgyan and Alexander Grigoryan, the Dean of the Faculty of Romance-Germanic Philology Samvel Abrahamyan, the head of the Chair of Translation Studies Ruzan Ghazaryan, students were present at the event.
In his opening speech Aram Simonyan attached importance to opening of the new rooms of synchronous interpreting. “Opening of such rooms are very important for Romance-Germanic Philology Faculty and for the university, as for many years one of our main challenges was lack of possibilities to show our translation potential. And opening this rooms we take a small step towards correction of the situation and preparation of new translators and interpreters”, mentioned Mr. Simonyan.
The Rector also added that the university has a special role in the process of intercultural and inter-linguistic communications, and the basis for preparation of new specialists has been set today. “I hope that these two rooms will make it possible to restore the traditions of our translation school and one day our students will contribute to the creation and spreading of cultural values”, stressed the Rector.
The head of the Chair of Translation Studies Ruzan Ghazaryan thanked those present for the participation in the opening event and added that this day is of high significance for the university, the chair and the students. “This is the first time the university attaching importance to the new methods of teaching, has created such rooms absolutely by its own means.
YSU Rector Aram Simonyan has contributed to it greatly, as having such rooms saturated with high-quality equipment is highly required at linguistic faculties”, stressed Mrs. Ghazaryan. The students expressed their gratitude and delight as hereinafter they will be able to combine their theoretical knowledge with practical trainings.
