Students from the YSU Faculty of Law Emerge as Winners in Inter-University Moot Court Competition
An annual moot court competition for students on the topic of banking law was organized on the initiative of the office of the Financial System Mediator. The two teams representing the YSU Faculty of Law emerged as the winners of the competition.
Teams representing the Faculties of Law of Yerevan State University, Russian-Armenian University, RA Police Educational Complex and RA Public Administration Academy participated in the inter-university competition.
Three teams represented the YSU Faculty of Law: FSM 2, FSM 5, FSM 3.
The FSM 2 (FSM - Financial system mediator) team included students who studied at Artsakh State University and are now continuing their education at YSU Faculty of Law. The coach of the team was Zarine Azizyan, applicant of the YSU Chair of Civil Law.
FSM 5 team was represented by 3rd and 4th year students of the YSU Faculty of Law. The coach of the team was Arsen Tavadyan, Associate Professor of the YSU Chair of Civil Law and Candidate of Juridical Sciences.
FSM 3 team was represented by 2nd year students of the YSU Faculty of Law. The coach of the team was Davit Baklachyan, a lecturer of the Chair of Civil Law.
The competition was held in two stages: written and oral.
In the written stage, the teams presented the client's request letter to the bank and the bank's response to the client, and in the oral stage, they competed with each other, representing the interests of both the client and the bank.
The oral stage of the competition was evaluated by lawyers of the financial sector, professors of the above-mentioned universities and employees of the office of the Financial System Mediator.
Taking into account the results of both the written and oral stages, the FSM 2 and FSM 5 teams, representing the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University, were declared the winners.
FSM 2 team of Artsakh students representing the YSU Faculty of Law won the "Best Answer" nomination for the oral stage, and FSM 3 team won the "Best Request Letter" nomination.
