First steps in economics: "YSU Economics School" two-day program concluded
The spring session of the "YSU Economics School" two-day program was held at the Faculty of Economics and Management, Yerevan State University. This initiative brought together high school students, providing them with the opportunity not only to explore the fundamental principles of economics but also to participate in practical, game-based, and interactive lessons.

Two-Day Journey of Professional Discovery
As part of the program, on March 1st and 2nd of the current academic year, students from various provinces of Armenia were hosted at YSU Faculty of Economics and Management. They participated in courses on economics, management, and finances, aimed at helping them in professional orientation. In addition to professional discussions, the students had the chance to gain insight into the world of economics and understand the practical applications of economic trends through interactive business games and the resolution of situational problems.
During the two-day program, students interacted with representatives from the faculty’s student organizations—the Student Council and the Student Scientific Society—and learned about their educational, scientific, and creative activities. They were introduced not only to the history and academic programs of YSU but also to the values upheld by the university.
Continued Success and Future Prospects

The Dean of YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, Karlen Khachatryan, emphasized the importance of the program in his speech, stating, "The 'YSU Economics School' two-day program, aimed at guiding and assisting high school students in their professional orientation, was developed almost a year ago, in the spring of 2024. This is already the third time we have hosted students in this format. We are convinced this program will become a tradition, laying the necessary foundation for continued success and strengthening university-school collaboration."
Discussing the program’s effectiveness, Associate Professor Anna Hakobyan, Head of the Chair of Management and Business at YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, highlighted, "The program, which is held twice a year, has become one of the faculty's traditional events. It provides students with the opportunity not only to get acquainted with our educational programs but also to gain an understanding of international mobility and the opportunities for professional development in the labor market."
The First Steps Towards Joining the University Community
The "YSU Economics School" two-day program serves as a unique bridge between future applicants and the Faculty of Economics and Management at YSU. It is an important platform for future economists to gain insights into professional and university-level education.
Despite its short duration, the program successfully brought together around 350 students from 78 high schools, colleges, and lyceums in Yerevan and the provinces, who received certificates of participation upon completion of the program.
