New research project: Acid-resistant systems in neutrophil bacteria In nature, bacteria frequently encounter various environmental changes, including shifts in acidic conditions, which can impact their metabolism and bioenergetic properties. Research in this field is crucial for both theoretical and applied biology, including areas such as medicine and biotechnology. A research team led by researcher Heghine Gevorgyan from the Laboratory of Microbiology, Bioenergetics, and Biotechnology at YSU Institute of Biology is conducting studies in this direction.
Izmirlian Charitable Foundation to support renovation of YSU Library entrance hall The 105th anniversary of YSU Library named after Sarkis and Marie Izmirlian is marked by a significant new step in cooperation. The Rector of YSU, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, and the Country Director of the Izmirlian Charitable Foundation, Armen Chobanyan, have signed a donation agreement. The event, titled "Nikos Kazantzakis: The Soul Traveler," also served as a unique platform to discuss the activities of the center, outline future plans, and explore new ideas with the center's partners. The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Greece to Armenia, Christos Sofianopoulos, and other officials from Greece.
In the Middle Ages, Armenian sculptor masters actively participated in the construction of Seljuk Anatolian structures - Zaruhi Hakobyan Zaruhi Hakobyan, Associate Professor in the Chair of History and Theory of Armenian Art at Yerevan State University, along with her research team, is studying the symbolism and style of Armenian medieval sculptures, as well as their interactions with neighboring cultures. Her scientific project titled "Armenian Medieval Sculpture in the 12th-14th Centuries: Development Patterns, Symbolism, and Style" has received funding through the "Scientific Effectiveness Promotion Grant Program-2025" competition, announced by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.

Democracy, human rights, security: DeHuRiS project launched at YSU The "Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in European Studies: Democracy, Human Rights and Security- DeHuRiS" project has been officially launched at Yerevan State University.
