Within the framework of distance learning, YSU Faculty of Journalism hosted Vardan Mkrtchyan, director, actor, artist, cultural figure, director of the Gabriel Sundukyan Theater.
He expressed hope, that the forthcoming lecture will be effective and asked the students to take an active part in the question and answer session as much as possible at the end of the meeting. "In my video message yesterday, I mentioned that April 23 is not an accidental day, as it is the day of the death of the world's biggest writer William Shakespeare, but that theater begins and continues with that death."
Answering the question what theater is, the speaker mentioned that theater is one of the most difficult types of art, if not the most difficult.
Making a historical overview, the actor referred to the history of the establishment of the Armenian professional theater. "Looking back at the history of the Armenian theater, we see that it has never had any problems in terms of people's involvement."
He also spoke about the need to entrust theater management to professionals.
At the end of the meeting, Vardan Mkrtchyan spoke about the challenges and development prospects of the modern Armenian theater.
